What Does Malaysian Airlines Flight MH17 Have To Do With Vladimir Putin?

July 21, 2014

The media propaganda campaign over the downed Malaysian Airlines Flight MH17 is so aggressive that even as someone who doesn’t have cable television I have had no choice but to write this article to respond to the nonsense.

Just days after the tragic crash of the Malaysian Airlines flight over eastern Ukraine, Western politicians and their media joined together to gain the maximum propaganda value from the disaster. It had to be Russia; it had to be Putin, they said. President Obama held a press conference to claim – even before an investigation was underway – that it was pro-Russian rebels in the region who were responsible. I remember it was last Friday when it was all over CNN as I was purchasing an orange cream soda at a local restaurant. I thought to myself, they are trying to stain the character of Vladimir Putin as payback for the way he helped in neutralizing Obama’s agenda of going to war with Syria. Obama’s ambassador to the UN, Samantha Power, also pushed the propaganda that pro-Russian rebels in the region were responsible at the UN Security Council – just one day after the crash!

So while you are getting more than your fill of western media outlets pummeling you with government propaganda on the event, there are a few things they will leave out that I would like to share with you.

They will not share with you that the crisis in Ukraine started late last year, when EU and US-supported protesters plotted the overthrow of the elected Ukrainian president, Viktor Yanukovych. Hundreds of people were killed in the US-sponsored “regime change” that followed. Without this US government intervention in the region, we would not have had a Malaysian Airlines crash today.

The media is reporting to you that the evidence for the plane having been shot down by Russian forces or Russian-backed separatists is in the fact that the missile that reportedly brought down the plane was Russian made. This is an insult to our intelligence. How many citizens in the United States own a Renault? If they run over someone with it, does that mean the French are responsible? The Ukrainian government also uses the exact same Russian-made weapons.

The media is not going to share with you that the US has strongly backed the Ukrainian government in these attacks on civilians.

The Russian president after having played a role in keeping the US government from decimating Syria the way it has Iraq has nothing to gain but everything to lose by shooting down a passenger liner full of civilians.

The media will not report that both the US and Ukrainian government have much to gain by pinning the attack on Russia and that the Ukrainian prime minister has already expressed his pleasure that Russia is being blamed for the attack.

The media will not tell you the plane was shot down by a sophisticated surface-to-air missile system that requires a good deal of training that the separatists do not have.

Ignore news stories about the Malaysian Airlines downed plane and dont fall for the propaganda. This is no different than last summer’s US claim that the Assad government in Syria had used poison gas against civilians in Ghouta. Assad was also gaining the upper hand in his struggle with US-backed rebels and the US claimed that the attack came from Syrian government positions. Then, US claimed he led us to the brink of another war in the Middle East. At the last minute public opposition forced Obama to back down – and we have learned since then that US claims about the gas attack were false.

The media does not provide accurate information, they are purveyors of propaganda. At this point it would be unwise to say the Russians did it, the Ukrainian government did it, or the rebels did it. Lets sit tight and demand a real investigation and that the best way to honor those innocent victims on the flight is not to go to war, its not to pass yet more legislation restricting our freedoms, but to demand peace and prosperity for all.
